چکیده
The design of axially loaded piles has been an area focus for the offshore industry in recent years. A number studies report substantial increases shaft capacity driven sand, known as pile ageing. slow to implement ageing into practice because uncertainty over mechanisms controlling and variability on impact This paper presents results tests using instrumented with two separate installations considered, one where was load tested 4 days after installation second test performed period 116 days. Data from installation, period, testing extraction provide further insights governing effect time axial sand.

An Experimental Investigation into the Arching Effect in Fine Sand
In the current paper results of a well instrumented experimental procedure for studying the arching effect in loose and dense sand are presented. The apparatus comprises concentric circular trapdoors with different diameters that can yield downward while stresses and deformations are recorded simultaneously. As the trapdoor starts to yield, the whole soil mass deforms elastically. However, afte...

On the Toppling of a Sand Pile
The sand pile model was introduced by Bak, Tang and Wiesenfeld (see [BTW88]) in the context of selforganized criticality. Since then, there has been a lot of work on this model and related models, especially from the graph-theoretical point of view (see, e.g., [ALSSTW89, GK93, GMP]). In the classical model, designed by Brylawski for another purpose (see [Bry73]), a sand pile is a decreasing seq...
